The C.A.T. Pixel Proportional Gas Counter Detector
A simple geometry of real pixel gas detectors has been evaluated that circumvents the limitations of a microstrips, namely aging, gain drift and flux limitation due to the dielectric charging. A good resolution has been obtained while preserving a large active size and a high gain and counting rate capabilities.
متن کاملAt Large Recoil
We perform an analysis of the K∗ polarization states in the exclusive B meson decay B0 → K∗0(→ K−π+)l+l− (l = e, μ, τ) in the low dilepton mass region, where the final vector meson has a large energy. Working in the transversity basis, we study various observables that involve the K∗ spin amplitudes A⊥, A‖, A0 by exploiting the heavyto-light form factor relations in the heavy quark and large-EK...
متن کاملA recoil detector for the measurement of antiproton-proton elastic scattering at angles close to 90◦
The design and construction of a recoil detector for the measurement of recoil protons of antiproton-proton elastic scattering at scattering angles close to 90◦ are described. The performance of the recoil detector has been tested in the laboratory with radioactive sources and at COSY with proton beams by measuring proton-proton elastic scattering. The results of laboratory tests and commission...
متن کاملRate effects in a proportional counter with resistive cathode
In this work, the rate effects associated with the gain of detectors with resistive electrodes are considered. To study these effects it was decided to use the classical proportional counter geometry, with a cylindrical glass tube as the cathode, rather than parallel plate devices. Indeed, the generality of the information obtained is not affected and the cylindrical proportional counter geomet...
